    I like how the audits for Bogey mode are listed as “Payback” – the code probably comes straight from Terminator 3 ;)

    There’s a lot of legacy wording in Stern audits, and other operator-mode things the player never sees. Ball savers are known as “freeze”, after the first DE game that had them (LW3?). If the game had a kickback, it would most likely be referred to as a “laser kick”, again, after the first DE game that had it (Laser War). LOTR also has evidence of renamed modes that were at one time called something else in the game’s development: Ring Frenzy is called “Ring Mania” instead, in the audits.

    Interesting that there were more right drains than left drains on both machines. I had always felt it was more of a left drainer due to the shape of the left sling. The audits never lie!
