About time! I’ve been locked out here for weeks!

I loved the list of good eats you posted last year, and the new mix tape is great.

I’m still stunned by that mix-tape art. Really cool.

Can you tell us what live coverage can be expected on the internet during the event? Both via PAPA directly and by others perhaps. Standings, reports, photo/video,…

    1. July 29, 2011 at 7:08 am

@Tylt will go tournament live on Thursday, August 11 @ 11am. Check the site then for all data we’ll be offering in real time throughout the weekend. Was there anything in particular you were looking for?

@Greg Shuttle runs continuously between the Greentree Radisson, Extended Stay America, and PAPA HQ during our operating hours. Beyond a last call at the end of every night, there are no set timepoints for pickup/dropoff, so be at your spot and on the lookout. Trust that the shuttle will be running loops between the three aforementioned locations nonstop throughout the weekend. If memory serves, each loop trip takes 45minutes.

How often does the hotel shuttle run?

How much time does a player have to decide if they want to void an entry once it has been played? I know the rules say it must be done “during or imediately upon completion”. But, does a player have time to go and check his (or her) scores in the overall rankings to see if that entry would score higher than a previously played entry, thus affecting their decision whether to void it or not? Bottom line: what does “immediately” mean?

  7. August 1, 2011 at 12:32 am

Greg, at past PAPA tournaments this has not been allowed. I recommend submitting any entry when it’s close you’re not sure — there is a good chance that entry may turn out to be the best at the end of the tournament.

Shorter answer: Immediately means what you think it means! 🙂

You have to sign or declare an entry void immediately after the last game is played… as in a few seconds while the scorekeeper is standing there waiting for you to sign it. The best thing to do if you’re worried about the situation you’ve brought up is check after your fourth game and have a target score in mind while you’re playing your fifth game. The reason for this is to reduce the load on scorekeepers. We want the scoresheets into and out of their hands as fast as possible.
