Elwin Wins California Extreme!

The PAPA Circuit stops this weekend at California Extreme in Santa Clara, California. Live standings can be found here thanks to Adam Lefkoff. The current Circuit leader is Trent Augenstein with 156 points. Zach Sharpe trails closely with 153 points.

UPDATE:

CONGRATULATIONS to Keith Elwin for winning the 2012 California Extreme tournament and punching his ticket to the PAPA Circuit Final. During the final round Keith won Congo and Tron to take an 8 to 4 lead over Jim Belsito. The final game was played on Tommy, and while Jim won the game it was not enough to overcome Keith’s overall performance. Videos will be posted of the final games in coming weeks with commentary.

Congratulations to Adam Lefkoff for winning the classics tournament! Adam scored over 2.35 million points on Fathom in the final game to overtake Keith Elwin’s score of 2.31 million. Hal Erickson took third, and Bob Matthews took fourth.

Congratulations to all players! A large number of new tournament players attended the event, and the pinball bug was successfully spread. PAPA extends a sincere thank you to all volunteers and staff. The California Extreme tournament was a success, and we hope to see you here next year and at other PAPA Circuit events in the future!

    Wow! Mark Steinman currently qualified in Modern and Classics! Mark, it’s too bad you can’t compete in PAPA events. You could probably do very well.

    @Chris

    Running events, especially those as large as PAPA and Pinburgh, is so tiring I honestly don’t think I would compete even if I was allowed. Thanks though, and Congrats to Keith and Adam.

    My hat is off to Mark.

    Difficult venue, top expectations, all the usual Tournament difficulties. He made the right choices where it counted and pulled off a great event.

    Robert Gagno making it into top 4, good stuff. The final rounds were full of killers.
