Pinburgh 2013 … now serving … a lot

We opened registration for Pinburgh 2013 yesterday.  We now have this many players registered:

That’s a group photo of the 173 players from Pinburgh 2011.  In ONE day we now have as many players for Pinburgh 2013 as we had in 2011 — and back then, it was the largest match-play tournament ever held.

There is a hard cap of 400 players for Pinburgh 2013.  While there are still many spots available, don’t delay!  And please keep passing the word on to others you think may be interested.  Also, don’t forget about Thursday’s PAPA Circuit Final, where the top 20 players will square off in four-player elimination matches: first place wins $100, last place is eliminated, every game until the final four.  It should be a great spectator event.  More about Thursday and the rest of the week preceding Pinburgh to come.

We thank you for your kind words and support, and we’ll deliver a great tournament in April.  Join in!

How are spectators (not contestants) handled at Pinburgh? Do they register first? Is there an admission? Can they play pinball during the tournament on non tournament games? Is there a cap on spectators?

There is no admission or registration required for spectators. You can play pinball on non-tournament games at any time, and you can even play on the tournament machines during warm up times (Thursday and Friday) or after the tournament is over (Sunday).

There is no cap on spectators, and every dollar of tokens you buy and play will be donated to charity.

The best spectating will be on Thursday for the Circuit Final, and on Sunday for the Pinburgh final rounds, but during the entire tournament, groups will be playing under the top-down cameras for people to watch.

Say hi when you stop by!

Thanks Bowen. I should have expected such a comprehensive answer from someone as comprehensive in his pinball tutorials. I sure will say hi if the planets align and I somehow make it. Otherwise perhaps at PBW one day. Have wanted to thank you in person for what you do.

What is your stance on teens (14-18) being spectators. Because I love and respect pinball and am 14. I just want to know if there are any rules I should be aware of. Thanks
