PAPA TV Kickstarter: Week 1

We posted the PAPA TV Kickstarter with the hope of reaching our $20,000 goal within 30 days, raising money to acquire equipment to livestream pinball Kickstarter 20Ktournaments around the country.

Thanks to the generosity of the pinball community, we reached the $20,000 goal in 18 hours.

The Kickstarter campaign continues to roll on, and we set forward several stretch goals (don’t worry, we have more).

  • At $25,000, we will build a professional-quality broadcast booth at PAPA HQ within sight of the A Division finals.  Done.
  • At $32,500, we will add specialty cameras: slow motion and custom-built “tilt cam”.  Done.
  • At $37,500, we will upgrade the overhead cameras, acquire more sheets of glare-free playfield glass, and buy wireless microphones for player and game audio.  We’re only $442 away from that goal.
  • At $50,000… oh, well, that’ll be next.  The next goals will be about PAPA TV content instead of equipment.  The real fun is coming.

Thank you to all contributors and to those who have passed the word around.  We hope you’ll continue to pass the word around as PAPA TV ramps up, and we’re hopeful we can make some of these show-content stretch goals.  In any case, it’s an honor and PAPA will work hard to make these donations worthwhile to pinball players around the world.

This is awesome. If you got Daniele to put the belt on the line, I bet you’d have no problem getting that $5k challenge the champ contribution!
